SKD（Semi Knocked Down）means “semi bulk”.In other words ,the SKD car refers to import vehicle assembly from abroad (such as the engine, cab, chassis, etc.), then assembled in the domestic automobile factory. SKD equals to produce a car into semi-finished , then simply assembled into the vehicle after importation.

In international trade auto companies in vehicle export countries will separate the finished product , and export by mode of semi-finished products and parts, importer themselves will assembly complete vehicle product and sales in their  country.

If SKD used  , it means not only save freight, using importing country’s cheap labor, but also enjoy a lower import duties than vehicle importing to the exporter, as to the importing country, it can promote domestic industrial development, increase employment opportunities, and occupied the domestic market .
